Masters
Program
Prerequisite. A Bachelor
Degree with a theological major from
an approved college.
This 45-credit hour ministerial program
is designed to prepare the student for
a greater degree of ministerial excellence.
Students specialize in an area of study
directly related to their ministerial
call. In addition to coursework and
a thesis, graduate students will fulfill
an internship corresponding to their
field of study.

PROGRAM
DESCRIPTIONS
MASTER IN MINISTRY
The Master in Ministry is a well-rounded,
in-ministry program for pastors, counselors
and other full-time ministers. This
program places an emphasis on leadership
skills, pastoral counseling and Theology.
It builds on ministry experience while
challenging the individual student to
pursue and realize their full potential
as a leader.
MASTER IN CHRISTIAN
COUNSELING
This Biblically based program is designed
for those involved in pastoral counseling
within the framework of Christian service.
It will enable the student to meet the
emotional, spiritual and psychological
needs of all age groups. It prepares
the student for a wide range of contemporary
challenges encountered in the local
church and Christian ministry. This
degree is offered in cooperation with
the American Association of Christian
Counselors (AACC). (The FCU Counseling
Program is not recognized by the State
of Florida for the purpose of licensing.)
SAMPLE MASTERS PROGRAM:
There are three (3) components of study
in each Masters Program.
1. COURSEWORK: (thirty (30) credits)
Each program consists of 10 courses
in the student's major consisting of
3 credits each.
2. THESIS: (six (6) credits)
The Masters student is required
to write a 75-page thesis in a topic
relating to their major. Thesis topics
are selected by the student in conjunction
with the Dean of Graduate Students to
insure eligibility to the program.
3. INTERNSHIP: (nine (9) credits)
An integral part of the Masters Program
is the internship requirement which
gives students opportunity for real-world
ministry. The internship is directly
related to the student's major and is
designed in conjunction with the Dean
of Graduate Students to ensure eligibility
to the program.

DOCTORAL PROGRAM
Prerequisite.
A Masters Degree in a Theological Major
from an approved college.
The doctoral degree is the highest level
of academic achievement possible. FCU
offers a 44-credit hour doctoral program
to prepare candidates for the greatest
level of ministerial excellence. Students
specialize in an area of study directly
related to their ministerial call. In
addition to coursework, research and
a dissertation, doctoral candidates
also fulfill an internship corresponding
to their field of study.

degrees in Theology and ministry. Custom
programs in other areas of study will
be considered by the Academic Committee

DOCTOR IN THEOLOGY
The Doctor in Theology degree has the
widest application for ministry preparation.
This program is applicable for teachers,
evangelists, pastors, ministers and
other church leaders with a specific
call to preach and teach the Word of
God. Subjects include areas related
to the study of how God relates to man
through the Scripture.
DOCTOR IN MINISTRY
The Doctor in Ministry program is a

An integral part of the Doctoral Program
is the internship requirement which
